He became a respected officer. He enforces discipline. He graduated with degrees in Military Tactics and theoretical strategy in which he became fond of military strategy of ancient Greeks and has come up with unusual ways to apply it to space combat. For instance during an battle with the Covenant in a deep space battle he placed his previous ship in the very middle between a phoenix class and a Marathon class in attempts to be fire support. He calls this missile duty. He fires at every incoming missile to key ships with his guns to ensure their survival. FLEETCOM never liked it when "Shiny" would create a new strategy on the spot, but usually when this was done; he had no other option, due to them being untested or unproven tactics. Most of his tactics were used under the assumption the Covenant Presence was nearby. Then at the time as a commander he received a Silver Star for protecting a group of Civilian Transports from a covenant attack as they were evacuating he held the line against multiple Covenant Corvettes he used and created the "Bait" strategy, in which he flew a destroyer in Zigzag formation until his MAC Cannon was charged up and armed, and turn on a dime and set for ramming speed at the Covenant Corvette and soon as he got a lock on he'd fire the MAC cannon and committed to evasive maneuvers to get out of the way, while firing Archers and guns. If done correctly he could get the Covenant gunships to fire upon or crash them into the covenant ship. He passed up a promotion to Captain under the assumption he would have to change ships, but after they told him he wouldn't have to change classes, he agreed to become a captain at the next round of promotions, he loves destroyers, as he could tell you key weaknesses that most people wouldn't think of, as he knows them like the back of his hand. He wouldn't dare to disobey an order. Alex got his nickname "Shiny" was from his military academy the members of his squad would make fun of him for shining the floor, till it shines. They claimed he could take a wool blanket and with enough arm into it make it shine. It is even been placed as his primary name, if you were to look up Shiny in the ONI database he would be the only result, as he goes by Shiny if they know him otherwise it’s his rank and name. He is a formal soldier, as he goes by protocol. He was never a fan of the Cole's Protocol, but he understood the need for it, and would follow it to the T. However when Earth was attacked he realized it didn't exist anymore, as earth was found. As a pissed off New Yorker he wanted to kill every Covenant he could find. Personal: His aspirations of being a Violin player were put on hold when his father sent him to Military School at earth. Shiny was the a Commander of choice when Major General Parkin was deployed however on Major General Parkin's last mission Shiny was already deployed elsewhere, Shiny knew and watched Seth Parkin grow up. It grieved Shiny when General Parkin died, as he saw a need to help raise Seth, he would send half of his paycheck to help raise Seth, and to pay for his schooling, after the Military Academy he lost contact with Seth. Shiny has been trained in all theaters of war, but sticks to space combat, he is a good ground tactician and he doesn't always shine when it comes to space combat, however He will always be the person to tell you I don't know if it will work but let’s try it out, the phrase that FLEETCOM dreads from him. Shiny has always been a thorn in his enemies’ side, if he gets the chance. He hates it when he hears to do a tactical retreat, but will follow orders. His stern and authoritative personality is respected by all crews. He has never personally met any key officers, but he hopes they are happy with him. He tells his men even if the Trust could try to turn me bad, they'd have to do a whole lot more than inject me, once he states something he believes in he'd die for that belief, and he has always passed his psych exam. Trivia: - He has ancient New York Giants and White Sox cards passed down from generation to generation. - Only his first officer and members on his bridge on entire ship are allowed to call him "Shiny" otherwise only higher ranking or same rank officers may call him shiny. - He hates officer food, and eats the same food as his Enlisted men. - The Only time he will ever disobey a direct order is if it puts civilian lives at stake, if a tactical retreat is called when there are civilians on the colony still. He will stay put. - He never looks at a tactical plan and make a snap decision on what should happen he allows others to do it for him and forms a tactical plan around what others say would happen, and if they are wrong then he would tell him what would go down, as a way to allow others to learn, and help out. Otherwise he would have made half the decisions himself.

Soooo if I may inquire, he seems like a douche. Yet his personality says something different. And then defend an infirmiry of children. It seems like you imply he's cruel and inhuman (ie 3-strikes) and yet he defends children and follows orders. I know there isn't a staff approval or anything, but I am commenting that these things don't seem to add up to me

Well in certain situations, yes it's lienient, but don't you think for someone missing say their duty shift, that seems extreme?

I also want to throw this out here. The CAMS School was attacked mid-2526, so if he attended that school he was 6 when it was attacked and therefore that doesn't make sense. Also, how would he have achieved two purple hearts and silver star while attending a military academy? It's not like he was in active duty while serving, so that doesn't really make sense in my opinion.

If this is a rough draft, why was it posted in the Cubifications section. This should of been PMed to Cuban or myself. This section is reserved for finished characters, and images. Pretty sure this was your definition of "finished". I am a pretty smart guy, and I know when people are trying to back step, and what you are doing is back stepping. This character was met with universal rejection due to its many errors and contradictions, not to mention chronological inconsistencies, and now it is "not finished". My advice...do not pull random stuff from the lore and hope it works. You gotta check this stuff with The staff, either Cuban, or myself (though it was everyone else who spotted the errors), and it needs to be scrutinized. We do this to everyone, and we vet each character to ensure they are quality. We do this to prevent you from embarrassing yourself with garbage characters. We are not picking on you...we privately deal with characters to prevent you from being made fun of. Do not bypass the staff vetting again Erex. We do not tolerate this. You might as well use this thread to get input from the community at this point. --- BTW...you made a HUGE gaffe in your character sheet. It has nothing to do with lore, or canon, but a huge technical mistake. If you cannot catch it, this guy is gonna be made fun of big time.
