At an early age, Evan had an incredibly high aptitude and was in the 99.9 percentile for intelligence. Due to Evan's high aptitude, he had finished high school at the age of 16. Upon his graduation from high school, Evan was approached by military officials, who were in fact undercover ONI Agents, and was offered immediate enlistment into the military, in the hopes that his high aptitude could be used in service to the military. It was at this time that Evan had the choice of whether to pursue a private life, or a life in the military, and he decided to go with the military. By June of 2503, Evan had started his basic training, which lasted 4 months. During this time, Evan demonstrated time and again that he had a natural inclination towards the military life, showing much promise and potential. It was because of this, as well as his aptitude, that Evan was selected to be in the final wave of ORION candidates.
