The Terrans - AKA: Humans
Humanity has proven to be one of the most, if not the most, resilliant and resourceful species involved in the Human-Covenant War. Humanity entered the space age in the 20th century and for over 500 years, managed to expand far beyond the SOl system, colonizing dozens of worlds, and at their peak, reaching a population exceeding 40 billion. However, due to the costly Human-Covenant War, and the current war with the Elites, Humanity lost a large portion of their species, now being classified as an endangered species.

Early History
Humanity entered the space age in the mid 20th century, and has since then made great strides forward. However, with progress came problems. Leading up to the development of the Shaw-Fujikawa Slipsapce Drive Core, Humanity was at a breaking point on Earth and in it's own solar system. Conflicts errupted over resources and space. In the early 22nd century, the United Nations Space Command was form. the UNSC served as the military branch of the United Nations. The UNSC was a joint taskforce, composed of the combined militaries of Democratic nations, responsible for interplanetary operations between Earth, Mars, and the Jovian Moons, against Communist and Fascist regiems and independant national powers known as The Koslovics, The Unified german Republic, and other Independant Countires not affiliated with the UN. This led to the Interplanetary War, which lasted until 2160 to 2164. The end result was a victory for the UNSC, and the total assimilation of all remaining nations into the UN, to form the fully Enified Earth Government (The UEG).
By the end of the 23rd century, specifically 2291, mankind had fully devloped the framework for the Slipsapce Drive Core and was able to leave it's own solar system. This led to the relief of the homeworld and permitted humans to leave Earth for other planets. This was the dawn of the colonization effort of Humanity. For the next 234 years, humanity colonized the orion arm, up until First Contact with the Brutes on Harvest. THis began the Human-Covenant War. As a result of the emergancy, the UN and UEG fell under the full control of the UNSC Emergancy military Government.
Human-Covenant War
Humany spent the next 28 years in a very one-sided war with the Covenant Empire. Victories for humanity were rare, and never made up for lost ground. Humanity soon discovered that this was a war of genocide, with the Covenant expressing no interest in territorial advance. The genocide of the human race proved to be systematic, and always thorough. However, the War came to a conclusion in 2553, after the Covenant Schism, an event which saw the splitting of the Elites from the main military body of the Covenant, only to be replaced by the Brutes. Humanity, with the assistance of the Elites, managed to see victory, although, due to the loss of life, resources, and territory, it was a very bitter victory.
Post Covenant Status
After the end of the war, humanity was faced with constant, yet, small scale attacks from Covenant remenants, composed mostly of Brutes. Althugh the role was small, the UNSC did play a role in helping defeat the Covenant remenants, and even planned a direct assault on the Brute homeworld of Doisac. The decision to try and crippled Doisac was met with high praise from the Elites, and the entire UNSC, save for the objections of Director Preston J. Vernette, who was branded a "Mongrel Sympathizer". However, the Brutes, in spite of constant attacked, managed to re-militerize, all without the knowledge of either the UNSC or the Elites.
It was at this time the Elites betrayed Humanity when victory against the Brutes was all but certain. The Elites attacked Earth and turned Earth into a battleground against the Brutes. This resulted in catastrophic damage to Earth. Human numbers were further driven down, as what was left of Humanity had been relocated to a remote, and undiscovered planet known simply as J-2-Alpha. Humanity is slowly building it's numbers up again, but the threat of extinction will be one humans must deal with for many more years to come.
Biology / Geneology
Humans are, in almost every aspect, weaker than Elites or Brutes. The muscular, skeletal, and organ system is much more brittle, and as such, proves to be a great disadvantage in physical combat against any Brute or Elite. Humans are warm blooded, like Brutes, and there is generally no limitations on mating and reproductive practices. Due to iron in the hemoglobin, Human blood is red.
Physical Appearence
Humans stand roughly at 6'0" and weigh in, on average, at 180 lbs to 200 lbs. Humans are bipedal and have 4 limbs. Humans have hair, although definatly not on the level Brutes do. Their hands posses 5 digits, and also share a common-likeness to Brutes.
Personality / Behaviour
Humans are generally aggressive in their approach, and highly skilled in all areas of science, art, literature, and military matters. Humans are highly educated and prove to be very intelligent. They have no social caste systems or reitualistic practices that involve self-annhiliation or isolation, unlike the Brutes and Elites practice. They have proven to be very keen tacticians and very resiliant and brave in the face of certain defeat. Their resolution was admired by Brutes and Elites, in spite of their status to the Covenant.
Director Vernette's Personal Notes
What was it that Delta said about Humans? That we are so full of contradictions, beauty and war, science and religion. That basically sums up Humanity. We have had our low points and our high points. The Human-Covenant war saw our lowest point. With well over 20 billion humans killed in the war, well, it is hard to imagine ever emerging from a slump like that. Even with the amount of people dead, we were still pushed to war, and forced to fight, on our last legs, never given a time to rest.
Inspite of the difficulty of staying alive, with our numbers continuing to dwindle, I cannot ignore the soul of my apecies. We have refused to die, refused to give way, refused to go quietly into the night, and refused to stop fighting. I guess it is true, you cannot keep a good man down. In these days, I find it is my job and responsibility to keep humanity alive, and make all the tough decisions. There are times I find myself as the figurehead for my kind, and times I believe that I am alive for a reason, if only to keep our species alive. However, in spite of the bumps and bruises we have taken, I do not see the human race dying out.
