It serves as an excellent sidearm or primary firearm and counter-infantry weapon. The Brute Spiker has an effective range of about 130 feet making it a medium range weapon. This weapon is standard issue for all infantry forces in the Brute Military. This is a Pre-Covenant weapon, meaning that this weapon has existed for however long the Brutes have had the ability to create firearms. As such, it does not utilize plasma based projectiles, but rather, a form of superheated metal slugs as ammunition. The very composition of this weapon speaks volumes of the barbaric nature of the Brutes. The Spiker is also equipped with two  close-combat blades which prove to be a very lethal addition to the weapon. What makes this weapon even more dangerous is the ability to easily dual weild it. The combined firepower of two Spikers  has been observed shredding MJOLNIR Power Armor. However, the Brute Spikers's has no observable disadvantages in combat. It appears to be an excellent and well-rounded weapon. Additionally, as Brutes are much stronger, the blades on this weapon can be swung much harder then a human or Elite could swing them. Generally speaking, in the hands of a Brute, this weaopon is much more dangerous then it first appears. This goes double time for Brutes who experts with this weapon.
