Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Review
By Killer 2

Introduction:
This review is of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Modern Warfare 2 is a first person shooter/action game that takes place in (where else) modern times. IN this review I will be covering the three major parts of the game (at least in my opinion.)
Part 1: Campaign:
Story outline
Modern Warfare 2 takes place after the end of Modern warfare 1 where Russia has decided to invade the United States of America over a terrorist act blamed on the United States. The man responsible for the terrorist act (Makerov) rises to power in Russia and declares war in a surprise attack catching the United States off guard because of a hacked ACS module. Russian troops quickly take most of Washington, and thousands of civilians are killed. that's a brief plot outline and I wont spoil anything else for you guys.
Controls
The controls to Modern Warfare 2 are very responsive and I have never encountered difficulty with them, the game allows you to change you looking speed which can be very helpful at times there are also different layouts you can choose from.
Controls: 10/10
Story
The story has a solid base but comes a little short at the end on substance. I also despise the silent protagonists in Call of Duty games. one last complaint, Infinity ward didn't need to go to the trouble of killing off main characters and doing the "through dieing mans eyes" thing, It worked in MW 1 but in MW2 I think they are just overdoing it because i have already seen somebody dieing in a call of duty game, I don't need to see it again.
Story: 6/10
Campaign total: 16/20=90%
Part 2: Special Operations
Overview
Modern Warfare two features a special operations mode commonly referred to as Spec Ops. The special operations are put into five categories: Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta and Echo. Each category adds difficulty to the special operations. For completing special operation you are rewarded stars. The amount of stars you receive depends on what difficulty you set the mission on. There are also special missions that give you stars based on time, not completion.
Originality
The special operations are all based of either campaign missions or online maps but are always different in their own way. The missions vary in type such as stealth, assault, wave defense and escort. All in all, these are very original missions, but I did get a little tired of map recycling, if you played the maps once why would you want to play them again with different enemies?.
Originality: 8/10
Difficulty Curve
The special operations are meant to be challenging and they are but start of slow to ease the player in. After the first two sections though the difficulty begins getting very challenging but well, I guess that’s the whole point of it. Some of the mission are almost impossible without a friend and a plan and at that point the game stops feeling like a game to me, I wanted a game, not a way to learn teamwork and planning!
Difficulty Curve: 5/10
Total Special Operations Score: 15/20=75%
Part 3: Multiplayer
Overview
The multiplayer is the biggest part of this game in my opinion. The multiplayer has about 15 games type but I will only be discussing the one I have played so far. The multiplayer has a good selection of maps which I will be reviewing as well (note: I will not review every map, just the major ones.) The thing I like about the multiplayer is the customization, you can create your own class, your weapons are customizable. you even get special perks! But Sadly every rose has its thorns MW@ has some pretty nasty glitches on the multiplayer which people exploit!
Game type: Team Death match
Team Death match is a team game with a maximum of 6 players on each tea, the team must work together to be the first team to reach 7500 points or get 75 kills. Team Death match is my personal favorite game type because it is just so basic, while some may consider this boring I don’t. The few bad things about team death match are that sometimes people do the stupidest things and make your team lose, such as running in and dieing, over.. and over.. and over.
Game type: Team Death match Total: 8/10
Game type: 3rd Person Cage Match
3rd Person Cage Match is a game type where two players compete head-to-head to be the first to reach 1000 points, or ten kills. Since the Cage Match is in 3rd person you can manipulate the camera in such a way that you can look around corners which is only a minor flaw, but can be exploited. There are also allot of boosters on Cage Match, who just want to level each other up by taking turns killing each other. Overall this is a good game type but the boosters kind of make it difficult to find a match sometimes.
Game type: 3rd person Cage Match: 7/10
Game type: Free-For-All
Free-For-All is what the title says, a match that is everybody for themselves. This game type is even simpler then team Death match. I personally don’t like free for all because nobody is ever watching your back and unlike Cage Match you have 11 other people to deal with. For me free-for-all is more like "Spray and Pray: the video game" because the second you see somebody its basically, hold down the trigger.
Game type: Free-For-All : 7/10
Game type total Score: 22/30=73%
Map: Rust
Rust is the Smallest Map in the entire game. Rust is a great map for cage match and team Death match, because of its compact nature rust is great for one vs. one clashing. It is great form Team Death match because of how hectic and exhilarating the games are! Overall this may be my favorite map in the game. one of my only complaints is that you die a crap load in team death match.
Map: Rust: 9/10
Map: Wasteland
Unlike rust, wasteland is one of the biggest maps in the game and is great for team Death match because of its open spaces. Also because of the open spaces wasteland is great for snipers! Wasteland contains a small underground room where it seems one team is always defending or attacking. All in all wasteland is a great map, my only complaint is the abundance of campers using thermal scopes.
Map: Wasteland: 8/10
Map: Terminal
Terminal is a medium sized map inside and airport terminal. Terminal sports many open hallways and even a plane you can enter. This map is great for team Death match because there are lots of choke points such as a central corridor down the middle where there always seems to be a battle. Sadly people always seems to camp at one place, taking some of the fun away.
Map: Terminal: 9/10
Map Total Score: 26/30= 86%
Multiplayer total score: 50/60= 83%
Modern warfare 2 Total Score= 88/100= 88%= 4/5 stars
