The New Order vs. My Life I don't really know how to start this off, but....here I go. I have been part of The New Order for almost a year...and it's been a great time. I love it here, and I think all of you as friends. However, recently, I'm sure many of you noticed I'm becoming a bit more of a jerk, I apologize for that behavior. It has come to my attention that what I do on here, is different than how I am in real life. Since, I invited my friends I have become more irritable and...moody. It's very wierd to me, because I used to think I was the same on here as in life. I was talking to one of my friends yesterday, and they told me that TNO is like a seperate me. Meaning, it's like a split personality, and everytime I believe it is being threatened, I get defensive. I was thinking about this since 10 PM last night and even went to bed then. I figured out, he is right...and he told me not to take it that seriously, but...it got to me. It showed me that I am different and I love TNO and I love my real life. I just can't decide between the two. I can't choose one over the other...and....I don't know what to do. I've been thinking about this for hours, I couldn't even handle going to school with this on my chest. This isn't a resignation...it's just a break...a break from life and TNO. It's the weekend...I'm taking a break from everything. I probably won't even last one day from TNO....but I have to try. Again, I apologize for my behavior...and I don't know what to do, I really would like to have both balanced, but at the moment, I can not do it. I've spoken to both of my friends about this...I just don't know what to do.

Sniper, here are some words from a person who thought they'd permanently resign from TNO: Keep your real life first. Always. To me, the logic seems simple: Stay online every waking hour, become obese and lazy and unmotivated, possibly die from arthritis or bad cholesterol, or go out into the world, make yourself a name and be someone, get married, have kids, and have moments that are once-in-a-lifetime, then when content, go to the online you and live the last couple years of life out. I hoped this helps. And if the way I present this seems, harsh, I'm truly sorry, but I've always kept the ideal that if people hear the harsh truth versus the sweet lie, they'll change their lives and accept things easier. As for your online behaviour, I've not noticed anything unusual. And no worries, even if you get busy with life, you move somewhere without internet for a couple years, the address http://theneworder.net/forum.php will always be seared into your brain. Trust me, it's like that with a different forum. I know the address, 5 years later, although I'm not that active on there anymore, usually being on here, than there. So no worries, even if you do have to leave for months, you'll always check in. I'll guarantee it. =P

Well I don't want him to leave for whole months at a time..., check in once in a while. But Kairu is right, you should ensure your private life is in order and in control first and foremost.

Thank you guys...and Kairu, it was a good truth, one I definitely needed to read. Still...I feel like I've tried too many times to try and get my life in order. And like Jon said, I don't want to leave TNO for long periods of time. I want to stay active, active like I am now. The thing is, I can't do that while also balancing life. I mean, I'm definitely going to try and cut down, but 9/10 weekends I am doing nothing and TNO is where I go. It's like an escape...and I'm just kinda regretting things I've done in the past two weeks.

okay so tell me if im wrong.. you said that TNO was like " ur thing" and your friends know about it, so its not " ur thing" anymore.. well yes its still your thing! you are one of the most valued members here and even if ur friends know about it, you are my favorite(: haha((: but its better if they know, you are like a super duper popular kid here and i think that they noticed that(:! but i understand if u want to take a break.
