Robertson and Axlon continued through the assault carrier until they reached the ship's brig. Sure enough Cadieux was still struggling to get free. The Brutes however, didn't care. They were enjoying every moment of her struggle. Cadieux: "Just wait until I get out of here! You all are dead! You hear me?! Dead!" Brute: "Keep struggling, Human. I love it when my meal fights back. Makes it much more satisfying to eat." Cadieux was disgusted by the comment the Brute made. Axlon and Robertson hung back in the shadows, stalking the group. Several times the Brutes stopped to sniff, thinking there was a new scent, but dismissed it as their captive's odors. Robertson: "Boss Lady, we found her. She's still alive, being dragged by three charming Brutes. We're one floor above the Brig." Robertson was whispering sarcastically over the comms. Robertson: "We could probably take them, if you want us to." Arman took a moment to think about the option. Arman: "If you can guarantee the Private will not be killed, then go ahead. We are about five minutes away. We'll be ready to provide cover for your retreat." Robertson: "Roger that, Boss Lady." Robertson closed the line and turned to Axlon. Robertson: "Cover me. I have a plan." Robertson pulled out his combat knife and held his shotgun close to him. Axlon on the other hand stayed hidden in the shadows. He was looking through the scope watching Robertson sneak up on one of the Brutes. When he closed in on the one last in line, he jumped on its back. The Brute began struggling, attempting to throw Robertson off, but to know luck. Robertson landed a quick finishing blow with his knife through the Brute's throat, instantly killing the alien. The other two Brutes raised their weapons to fire on Robertson who was finishing his kill when Axlon fired on the Brute holding Cadieux. He let her go to cover himself from the shots. Cadieux wasted no time in her response. She grabbed her knife as well and assassinated her captor quickly and efficiently. Cadieux grabbed the dead Brute's Plasma Rifle and used it to help gun down the last Brute. Robertson landed the killing blow by shooting the Brute with a blast of buckshot to the face. The three convened in the corridor. Axlon: "Boss Lady, we got her. We are moving to meet you back at our mission objective." Arman: "Roger that, Corporal. Good work." The trio began to move towards their mission target, the comm relay station when Robertson began chatting with Cadieux. Robertson: "You know, Private, that was impressive." Cadieux looked at Robertson as they continued along the corridor. Cadieux: "What was?" Her naivety clearly visible. Robertson: "That kill. Almost as vicious as one of mine." Axlon: "Better watch out, Nader, she's might pass you might be out of a job by the end of this mission." Robertson: "I highly doubt that." The two men laughed quietly as they dodged a few more patrols. They were about 1000m away when a ship-wide alarm went off. The three hid in the shadows until a voice broke over their team comm. Fireteam Viper Squad Leader: "Fireteams Hawk and Harmony, we have disabled and sabotaged their main engines. You have 10 minutes to get off of the ship before it detonates. Westmoreland out." Robertson: "They sure don't like to mess around, do they?" Arman: "Fireteam Harmony, reroute to the hangar bay." Axlon: "Copy that, Boss Lady. And no, they don't. Then again, they didn't have to go and save a team member's ass either." The two men looked at Cadieux who looked down, disappointed with herself. She already began preparing for the worst from both Reynolds and Arman. When the coast was clear again, they began moving to the hangar bays.
