Troy and Colby managed to disperse the immediate elites that had cloaked near them, they lifted Carmicle and Limos onto the warthog, the two watching the area. Most of the other elites were engaged with fighting.

Troy: Captain Sharpmen, we have a movable vehicle over here! Orders?

Jacob was on the other side of the evac center, currently engaged in hand to hand fighting with an elite. The elite had drawn it's energy sword and jabbed at Jacob. Jacob saw the move coming and quickly rolled out of the way. The elite lodged his sword into the concrete slab and tried to pull it out to no anvil.

Jacob immediately unsheathed his combat knife, and before the elite could react to the new danger, the knife was already lodged between his eyes. The elite fell to the ground, motionless, as his sword burned through the concrete.

Jacob then looked around the area, his forces were about to be overwhelmed, they couldn't hold the area any longer.

Jacob: All forces fall back! Back through the tunnels!

Jacob helped two soldiers up and then ran over to Carmicle and the others. He looked at them all.

Jacob: Sergeant Carmicle, I'm putting you in charge of the remaining forces. Take them through the tunnel, regroup, lure the elites to you, and hold the line as long as possible.

Carmicle: Sir?

The elites repositioned themselves and began to fire upon the warthog. The others were falling back into the tunnel, firing anything they could.

Jacob: I don't leave men behind Carmicle! Especially not a Vernette!

Jacob turned and swung his sniper on his back. He picked up a shotgun and loaded it with extra shells.

Jacob: Now go! We don't have much time! Fire everything you can, get the elites to follow you!

Jacob turned.

Jacob: And then bury them.

Jacob handed Carmicle a PDA.

Jacob: I had some demo teams hook the area, you'll know it when you see it! Now go!

Carmicle just nodded as Jacob banged on the warthog. The team sped off, firing what they had at the elites and getting most of the forces to follow the remnants. Jacob threw out a few smokes, to give them more time, and give him a possible escape.

Unseen, Jacob walked through the smoke once it was thick enough, slipping right past the elites and into the hallway. Down the hall, he could hear shooting.

Jacob: I'm coming Tye...

Jacob ran down the hallway.

Meanwhile:

The pelican carrying the Suicide Squad passed the threshold of the Covenant fleet, unseen.

Pilot: ETA Ninety seconds to target. Strap in, hot drop.

Athios: Roger that. Hot drop, no landing on this one, jumping out.

The pelican flew fast and headed straight towards the objective.

CPO MacLaren was following close by in her longsword, keeping an eye on the field below.

Meanwhile on board the Vigorous Inferno:

Harrison was staring at the planet. He knew the Suicide Squad would get the job done, but he would still need a team to regroup with the main ground forces. With Captain Frost, Commander Vernette, and Captain Sharpmen. All three were crucial to the war efforts, all three known on the ships, and all three surviving this onslaught.

Harrison knew of only one Commander he hadn't ordered to go down, one that was following every movement, every step, every breath the Covenant was making against the UNSC on the ground. Experienced, capable leader, proven dangerous in the heat of battles, and almost never failing at his duty.

Harrison nodded. He would have this Commander, his Field Commander, sent into the fray with a contingent of soldiers. Enough to push the elites and brutes back away from the remnants of the original ground forces, and regroup the remnants. One that he knew was loyal to him, respectful to each other, and would keep him updated on everything that happened.

As of now, this new Commander would be his voice on the ground.

Harrison: Harrison to the bridge.

Bridge Officer: Copy, sir.

Harrison: Signal the Field Commander. Get him down here on the double. It's time.

Bridge Officer: Roger that, sir.

There was a pause in the room.

Bridge Officer: Message sent, he should be on his way.

Harrison grinned and waited for his arrival.
