Tye turned away and he moved Cochraine into one of the holding cells to shield both himself, and Cochraine, from the explosion. Cameron, however, held his ground, and he allowed his shields to absorb the blast. The grenade had landed a few feet in front of Cameron. When the grenade had exploded, Cameron stumbled back a bit, but he regained his footing very quickly. Cameron was, otherwise, unphased, and unharmed. Tye and Cochraine emerged from cover. Tye looked at Cameron. Tyber: Well done Cam. Let's go. Cameron looked at his shotgun and tossed it aside. The weapon had been jammed, and required too much maintenance to repair. Cameron, instead, just drew his Assault Rifle, and took point. Cameron led Tye through the corridors. The path had been cleared by Sergai, so there was little to shoot at. As Tye walked, he contacted his evac birds. Tyber: Evac...this is Commander Vernette...we need evac in less than 30 seconds! Tye waited a moment. he then heard a response from the Pelicans. Pilot: Commander...this is Pelican Foxtrot-101...I am on stations...but we have a problem... Tyber: A problem? This better be a huge ass problem pilot! Pilot: While we were were waiting for the evac call...we were engaged by Covenant Air. Pelicans Echo-045 and Echo-099 were destroyed before they even got off the ground. Pelican Whiskey-111 sustained damaged and had to fall back towards White Water. His bird nearly went down as a result. I managed to shake the enemy bogies...but...I don't think I can get back in there without being shot down. These birds were never intended to take punishment... Tyber: Pilot...I am about to be carpet bombed in less than 5 minutes...you get your ass out here and you pick us up...PRONTO! That is a direct order! The pilot paused for a moment. Pilot: Aye sir...I'm on my way...ETA...60 seconds. Just give me a clearing to land, and I can get you guys out of there. Tyber: I will deploy smoke. The LZ may be a bit hot...but, no matter what...you land that bird in 60 seconds...I don't care what is waiting for you. Pilot: Aye! Tye closed the comm line. Tye then spoke up. Tyber: Let's get out there...make sure the area is clear!
