Jacob had already ordered a majority of the men to throw orange smoke as far into the Covenant as they could. Down the line of buildings, and at least 50 meters from each building, a trail of orange smoke was building. A perfect line of sight for the shortsword bombers.
Jacob had also noticed that the Covenant was bottle-necking a majority of their troops towards Bentz Hotel. The amount of firepower they had inside could take out the first few waves, but would not be able to last long.
Jacob knew, however long they would hold out would be enough to put some serious damage on the Covenant invasion. Jacob looked around, three dozen marines still held strong, including a few ODSTs, he could only imagine the next eight levels, just spraying the enemy with rapid fire.
Jacob looked out the window and saw grunts and jackals dropping like flies, and elites dropping every few seconds.
He grinned, he knew that the Covenant would not have a strong enough army to make it through to the evacuation center in time to stop the ships. The city of White River would be saved...for now.
Jacob had switched to his Socom and finally fired off the last few rounds, he turned around and picked up an assault rifle, beginning to mow down any alien that got too close.
Troy and Limos were down the lay, laying suppressive fire on a group of jackals a few feet from the building.
Carmicle and Colby were on the fourth level, shooting their weapons and scoring headshots on the jackals that were behind overturned cars.
