***meanwhile***
Kirk and Omega were inside a testing chamber, on the ship, the "Schrodinger"
opposite to Kirk and Omega, was a Test Subject gone mad. The Test Subject had taken one of Kirk's scientists hostage.
The Test Subject held a knife close to the scientists neck.
Omega had his DMR raised and pointed at the test subject, while Kirk was in his flame retardant jumpsuit.
Kirk sighed
Kirk: Subject Gamma-79....Let go of the poor man, and I swear you will not be harmed...
Gamma-79: How do I know if you're telling the truth...
Omega snickered.
Kirk glared at Omega, before looking back at the Clone.
Kirk: Look Gamma-79, I created you. That essentially makes me, your father.
Now, ask yourself this. Would a father, lie to his own son?
Gamma-79: I'm not going to listen to ANYTHING you say...until that...THING puts his gun down.
Kirk: Do as he says Omega.
Omega complied, and lowered his DMR.
Kirk: There...he lowered his gun...
Gamma-79: No...I want it ON the ground...
Omega: This is stupid...
I'm certain that I have a clear shot at him...
Scientist: No-No-No-No Don't take the shot!
Kirk: Just do as it says Omega...
Gamma-79: IT?!
Kirk facepalmed
Kirk: what my "son" says...
Omega slowly placed his DMR down on the floor.
Kirk: Rest assured, I know what I'm doing.
This has happened before...
Scientist: Yeah Spartan...it's best to sort of let these things play out...
Gamma-79: Play out? what're you talking about. DO YOU THINK THIS IS A GAME?!
Kirk: The way these things play out is that we usually set the clone free, once he's figured out the whole...humanity thing.
Kirk made hand gestures to go along with what he was saying.
Gamma-79: You mean...I'm going to go free?
Kirk: Yes!
Gamma-79: So...I didn't have to...
Oh man...this is GREAT!
Thank you so much father. I....--
The clone clenched his heart with the hand being used to hold the scientist. Ceasing his opportunity, the Scientist sprung, and ran to Kirk and Omega.
The Clone fell backwards, and landed on his back, he couldn't breathe.
Gamma-79: What's...happen....
The clone then went limp. He was dead.
Omega: What just happened...
Omega picked up his DMR, and walked towards the corpse of Gamma-79.
Kirk: The test subject had a heart attack when he realized he was going to be set free. His heart couldn't keep up with the stress of getting set free...So it failed.
I would know, since I cloned it that way...
Kirk sighed.
Kirk: Dr. Phibes.
Phibes: Yes?
Kirk: Call the "Janitors", and be ready for another test in one hour.
Phibes: Yes Admiral.
Kirk unzipped his flame retardant jumpsuit, crumpled it up, and tossed it into the wastebin.
He dusted off his coat, and pressed a button adjacent to the door leading out to the labs.
he spoke into the intercom.
Kirk: The situation has been contained, you may lift the emergency lock.
Intercom: Understood, lifting the lockdown now.
Kirk waited for the light above the door to go from red, to green, before stepping out into the main Science labs.
Kirk: Hungry Omega?
