Newly promoted naval commander. His first ship under command is the newly built ONI destroyer Second Chance. He led his crew for 2 weeks stranded in deepspace after several failures. He however led them until was rescued and the ship was repaired. He is from the world or Erandi.
Several weeks after he and his crew were rescued they encoutered the Trust Ship Ulterior Motive. He and Koyla got into a heated debate, when his Security Chief Captain Carlos told him to break off. So when he does, he jumps to J-2 Alpha where he debriefs HIGHCOM but they suspected him to be a Trust Agent, and did blood work, but when he request that his ship be screened for TRUST operatives, they find that Captain Carlos is the operative, and when he was detected he blew himself up as well as a Marine 1F guard. Rkla and Cameron found no other Trust Operatives.
History
He was born on Epsilon Eridani to his parents who are both dead, he was raised by his grandparents. He excelled at his studies, and even went to the Acedemy where he became a pilot, after only serving 3 combat missions he was given an oppertunity to command a Destroyer the Second Chance. He however got it destroyed and 130 lives were lost. He however is now plagued by nightmares of the 130 men and women he left to die. He has vowed should he be in combat, he'd die in combat on the bridge of his ship.
During the Battle of Aurigae he was leading Red Squadron in which he and red squadron at one point were outnumbered 5 to 1, Commander Tylan however made sure ground teams were safe and he expended most of his missiles shooting Trust Tanks. During the battle Red 4 and 3 died during combat all that remains of red squadron is Red 2 also known as Eva, who showed an interest in Tylan even when she wasn't drunk. During the battle of Aurigae they found a Trust Firebase and an abondoned Vulture that tried to take off and was shot down. They killed a total of 4 Vultures, and 6 squadrons of fighters had Yellow Squadron not shown up its safe to say Commander Tylan wouldn't be alive at the moment.
Personality
His personality is that he actually cares and shows every characteristic that the trust wouldn't want. He actaully cared about his crew to a personal level, and when he got the Second Chance destroyed he has had nightmares and grief that he allowed 130 men and women die because of his ego that got it destroyed. He went through a humbling experience with Captain Hayes. He told Hayes leaving that ship was the worst mistake he ever made, and Tylan has vowed that he wouldn't ever allow himself to abandon ship again. If he so has too, he will die protecting his men and women. He personally wrote out the 130 letters to families and family member letters stating he was sorry that his descion is the reason you will not see your father and or mother again. And that he will take the grief to his grave:
Actual Letter:
"Dear Amanda,
I write to you to say I'm sorry, but your mother will not be coming home for your birthday on August 19th, the reason is your mother died onboard the Second Chance. As the commander of the ship, I take full responisbility for your loss, a mistake I made was I abondoned ship even though I knew your mother couldn't be saved. I am fully aware I don't deserve forgiveness from you or your brothers Alex, and Gregory, but I am asking you humbled and humilitated to ask a 16 year old girl, for forgiveness. I do not expect it. Your mother was sealed into a section to prevent atmosphere to vent from the entire ship, as we were being shot at by 3 Marathon-class Heavy Cruisers. Your mother often talked about you, and how you are the most beautiful girl in the entire universe, and that she is so proud of you, for your achievements. And I would personally congratulate you on your acceptance to college already. Your mother and I were personal friends, and it grieves me that I am the reason she is gone.
