Ok, so this game was created by Ubisoft for the Movie James Cameron Avatar. You take the role of a Signal Specialist Able Ryder. He is a soldier for the RDA but you can choose to join with the Na'vi. There is always constant combat.. Your on the Moon Pandora, right? well your a one in a million match for a avatar body that was hap hazardly grown. Well let me put in terms. The game is good, with visually correct to the movie, but it has horribly failed to meet several criteria for Multiplayer combat. Ok you can't put a clan tag on your name, so you can't have battles. And even when the game first came out there was hardly 35 people online at any given moment around the world. But lets get back to basics...
Now the game has armor which has different stats, and it has a built-in enclyopedia, but it when comes to weapons, doesn't explain the weapons in any shape or form just the type of weapons.
You got a assault rifle which you can guess what it does, a Pistol(Akimbo with infinite ammo). A standard issue rifle(a long range burst fire rifle with 96 rounds of amm) a shotgun that has no kick whatsoever(96 rounds). A grenade launcher with 20 rounds, A HMG with 450 rounds, a Nailgun(Long range HMG). A Flamethrower(Extremely fun to kill na'vi and people online with). But there are no frag grenades....... What the Hell is wrong. I can't throw a grenade where I want to.. So thats where it has failed.
All in all, they did a great job visually, but failed to keep people engaged. The game is extremely fun, but there are several issues with it.
1.) There are no level difficulties, so if you beat the game, you can go to the Blue Lagoon if you chose to be RDA(Resources Development and Administration) you can kill anything with a pistol.
2.) There is no way for you to create a Clan so if you play James Cameron Avatar you get no clan tags.
3.) Very repetive, if you beat the game it seems the same but is still a very challenging game.
4.) I hate the fact that when I attack a Na'vi they can be like to 15 feet away and still hit me with a small weapon a.k.a dual blades. When those blades in reality is like maybe 5 feet long.
5.) Several glitches, in where you will fall through the map.
6.) Able to walk through buildings
7.) Online gameplay has several lag issues, in which you can look at a guy and see him freeze and then appear at the other side of the map.
8.) It got a 1.5 out of 5 IGN rating, and was rated by G4TV as the worst game of the year.
The plus sides to this game are
1.) Visually beutiful, and true to the movie.
2.) Awesome looking armor.
3.) Awesome looking guns
4.) Big ass maps, I still can get lost in the winding maps they made.
Ok so with all of the Negatives and all the positives... There is hardly a AVTR game community, but it has visually beutiful stuff. Not enough images or renderings of the game whatsoever... So I give this game a 5 out of 10. But the fun factor of killing innocent noobs.... I give it a 6 out of 10.
