He proceeded to waited on the Observation Deck with the other squad commanders. It was not long until Rkal, and several Elites arrived on the Observation Deck of the Cloak and Dagger. Vernette: Alright, lets get this ball rolling. You all know basically why you are here correct? Everyone nodded. Vernette: Good. So I would be wasting my breath if I said we are out to find the enemy shipyards. The way we are going to do this is we are are going to capture an enemy ship, raid their computer core, and steal all the tactical information on their installations, colonies, and most importantly, their shipyards. The brutes are amassing another fleet and if we do not act soon, we may not live to regret anything! Vernette: We are going to try a new method of theft here. However I will get to that in a second. Vernette: That is really neat...anyways...we have several Separatist ships and 8 UNSC ships going into this operation. not including my ship, which we will talk about in a moment. Every ship in this fleet, Separatist and UNSC alike will fall under the command of Ship Master Rkla. Vernette: We plan to drop out of slip space in the chi-eta five system, roughly 112 light years from Earth. From there, we have detected a small loyalist battle group paroling the space exactly 55 light years from that position. Rkla is going to use is reknown diplomatic skills to sucker these brutes into a fight. Vernette: Knowing the brutes, they will gladly cross into our territory to pick a fight with the Elites. Little will they know, this is an ambush. Vernette: One of those loyalist ships has already seen combat, we will call this ship "Fort Knox" for short. Fort Knox has no shielding, it was damaged in a previous engagement. This is the ship we will be stealing. Vernette: Now, some time ago I designed a new class of ODST drop pod built to steal enemy ships. Vernette pulls up the schematics of the drop pod. Vernette: As you can see, this pod is outfitted with a very large drill on the bottom, designed to cut through the hull of an enemy ship. This pod can fit roughly 5-6 marines, or 2-3 Elites. We have enough to ensure that every soldier in this taskforce can get onboard Fort Knox. Vernette brings up a simulation of The Cloak and Dagger. Vernette: We will be using the Cloak and Dagger to reploy these drop pods into Fort Knox. We have modified the current lifeboat pods, as well as added extra lauching areas on The Cloak and Dagger to deploy these pods. Vernette: These pods have two entrances to them. One in the back, which will be used when first entering the pod itself, and one in the front that is revealed when the drill drops off from the bottom of the pod when the drilling cycle is complete. This will allow you to enter the ship without sucking yourself into space. Do not worry, once the drilling cycle is complete, the pod will latch itself to the enemy hull, and effectively seal the hull breach. Nobody has ever died when I tested these pods so do not worry. Vernette: These pods are very fast so please...use the seat belts because the impact...is NOT VERY NICE! Vernette: The reason we are using The Cloak and Dagger is because of its Stealth Systems. This ship has the ability to hide itself from ALL targeting sensors. We are invisible to sensors so I have to be extra careful not to collide with any ships, because nobody, not even our UNSC or separatist ships will be able to see me. I will get within 1 Km of Fort Knox, I will then begin launching these pods at Fort Knox at locations of interest. We have three primary teams for this mission. Team 1: Your job is to secure the bridge and ensure you maintain control of it. You are to then plot a course behind out lines so our ships can cover your escape. The survival of Fort Knox is paramount. Team 2: Your job is to take control of the engineering deck. You need to cut the main power to the auto destruct systems...so not brute tries to blow you up while you are trying to escape. Team 3: You job is to infiltrate the ship itself and basically be as annoying as possible. Engage every brute you see. Kill everything you see that is not Human or Elite. Delta: I think I should be involved in this mission Vernette... Vernette: Not you Delta...I need you on Earth...protect that base...those people are counting on you. If the Brutes decides to capitalize on the fact that we have reduced forces in that area, I will need you to pick up the slack. Please... ONI Agent: We are two for two sir. All pods have hit the engineering section. Initial reports show the brutes are scrambling. The ship turned to the bow and headed right at Fort Knox. Vernette: Target the bridge areas...fire Team 1... Team 1's pods fired off and impacted the enemy ship. The loud drilling sound could be heard by everyone in the pod. after a moment, the drilling stopped and the door busted open, revealing the insides of the brute cruiser. Xavier: Go, go, go...
