Clarke had come in a bit late, but managed to catch the gist of what was happening. He ran to his room and got his AR and pistol. He checked his bag and threw in his MREs and water. He also put in another mag for his rifle and pistol. He checked the reflex scope on his rifle. He made his way back to the tent. While he waited, he pulled out the necklace that was on his chest. He rolled the object in his fingers. His mind was somewhere distant... Much farther from the tent he was in and passed the country even. His mind was back home. He put the figure of Jesus on the cross back in his shirt, under his gear.
