The M247H is an air-cooled, gas-operated, electrically fired, linkless-fed weapon. It can be used in both anti-personnel and anti-vehicle roles. It is most often seen mounted on stationary tripods and used as a defensive weapon, but can also be carried by those strong enough to efficiently operate it. An M247H is mounted on either side of most UH-144 Falcons. In its unmounted form, the weapon has a limited ammunition capacity of 400 rounds. This weapon is standard issue on all ONI ships as of 2555. ONI Marines can be seen using this weapon when deployed in the field.
The weapon sports a very stylish semi-matte black finish the metal. The weapon itself proves highly effective against shields at any range. The gun slowly climbs during automatic fire like the M7 Caseless Sub Machine Gun, but its recoil is lessened by the gun's weight, which makes it hard to move around as well as decreasing the user's speed. Like most heavy machine guns, the M247H does overheat with continuous fire.
