Either God was asleep at the wheel when he created the Flood, or biological evolution took a destructive course. The Flood are numerous, destructive, and utterly without mercy, compasion, or feeling. In fact, I don't even think they are alive. Flood forms seem to be drones of what appears to be a collective consciousness. This consciousness seems to be driven by one will, and one will alone; the will to conqure. They consume life forms from the inside out. I have witnessed a human being consumed by the Flood, and it is something I never wish to see again.
I take the Flood very seriously, and will not hesitate to order Nova deployments to stop them. From what I have witnessed, researched, and been told, the Flood seems to work on a very small scale. The Flood, is nothing more then a parasite which seems to rewrite and contaminate a host body, which is then used for any number of purposes. During the Alliance with the Elites, research I was given suggests that the purest Flood forms can simply spawn from a body of dead biomas when suffeciant host biomas, and a spore, is provided. There is no way to stop the flood with small scale arms, as there is simply not enough ammo to stop them. There is yet to be an effective way to control, or destroy, the flood on large scales. In the mean time, nukes seem to get the point across.
