There will always be a regenrator in a Brute pack. Regenerators heal all electronic forms of shielding in the vicinity of the healing aura, so it is wise not to deploy it near enemy forces. It is commonly, but not formally, known as the deployable engineer. The Regenerator also works to rebuild overshields to full and keep Invincibility Modules active for much longer then normally possible.
