Brute Mauler Clip Size: 5 Shells Projectile Force: Medium Bullets: Superheated Metallic Slugs Effective Range: 50 ft Rate of Fire: 60 Rounds per Minute Type-51 Pistol - Brute Mauler The Brute Mauler is a high powered handgun which by some standards meets the classification of a mini shotgun. It serves as an excellent sidearm or primary firearm and counter-infantry weapon. The Brute Mauler has an effective range of about 50 feet making it a very short range weapon. This weapon is standard issue for all security and infantry forces in the Brute Military. This is a Pre-Covenant weapon, meaning that this weapon has existed for however long the Brutes have had the ability to create firearms. As such, it does not utilize plasma based projectiles, but rather, a form of superheated metal slugs as ammunition. The very composition of this weapon speaks volumes of the barbaric nature of the Brutes. The Mauler is also equipped with close-combat blades which prove to be a very lethal addition to the weapon. What makes this weapon even more dangerous is the ability to easily dual weild it. The combined firepower of two maulers has been observed shredding MJOLNIR Power Armor. However, the Brute Mauler's limited range proves to be the downside of this weapon, for anything except a Brute anyways. Humans, for example, have a difficult time getting close enough to the enemy for single shot fatalities from this weapon as opposed to Brutes who, thanks to various factors, can run faster, move quicker over all terrain, jump and lunge further and sustain more direct projectile impacts due to shielding and natual resistance. Additionally, as Brutes are much stronger, the blades on this weapon can be swung much harder then a human or Elite could swing them. Generally speaking, in the hands of a Brute, this weaopon is much more dangerous then it first appears. This goes double time for Brutes who experts with this weapon.
