It serves as a counter-infantry and counter vehicle weapon. As opposed to the standard Spartan Laser, the Spartan Laser - ONI Variant is capable of lasting much longer due to the enhanced battery. This weapon is standard issue on all ONI ships as of 2555. ONI marines can be seen using this weapon when deployed in the field. The weapon sports a very stylish semi-matte black finish on the rubber grips, with a slight navy blue polish on the metal. The weapon itself proves highly effective against everything at any range. The directed energy beam has perfect accuracy. However, the weapon itself proves to be difficult to use in the hands of a novice. THis can be attributed to the weight of the weapon and the recoil. The weapon fires a directed energy beam, capable of destroying most everything in a single shot. This weapon is equipped with a much more powerful battery, allowing for up to 10 discharges before being depleted.
